Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born into an ethnically mixed family. Her father is a Nigerian-Swiss, as is her mom who's English. She was born in an estate in South London community estate, and at the age of fourteen, she attended The Brit School. She went to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London in which she earned a BA in acting. The stage she appeared in was several productions as a student including King Henry V, as Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights, as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe's acting career began with Storm Damage. Since then, she has been a guest star on Teachers, Doctors, Casualty, and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe scored her first motion picture role in the Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream, opposite Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor. In the wake of that film's success she was cast as Elisha in the one-off BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN, and appeared in the six episodes of Trexx and Flipside as Ollie. In 2008, Madekwe landed Bambi, the lead role on ITV2's drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe was the main character in the comedy of 2008 How to Alienate and Lose Friends. Her credits in theatre includes Little Sweet Thing or Roy Williams and Flight Path of David Watson.
Madekwe had her official US debut on the Drama series The Beautiful Life, which was only broadcast for The CW before being cancelled. In February of 2011 she was cast as Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. In May of 2013, it was revealed that Madekwe, who been a series regular in the past two seasons, would be leaving the show after a guest-appearance in the premier episode of the new season. In the TV series Salem in 2014, she portrayed Tituba from 2014 until 2016. From June to July 2012, she got married to her long-time partner actor Iddo Goldberg. They both appeared on Secret Diary of a Call Girl. They also starred as a couple in Salem.
Ashley Leggat was born in Hamilton, Ontario, into an extended family of. She was raised by her parents Roy and Patty along with her older brothers -Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. Ashley's family, which is all athletes, play baseball in summers and played hockey in the winter months. Ashley did not have the ability to actually walk. She was a dancer. When she reached just 2 1/2 years old when she was a little older, she was a part of Baby Ballet. Ashley fell in love with dance at this age. When she was in the high school she attended, Ashley danced competitively in the top divisions in tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, acrobatics, musical theatre, lyrical, and hip hop. Additionally, she was awarded the top awards for soloists in every important dance competitions such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, among others.
